Trend Micro

Providing effortless multi-market thought leadership: Trend Micro needed a bigger impact with their reports, so they switched from decision makers to surveying remote workers. SAPIO Research took the stress out of international research, checking through questionnaires, managing all the translations and fieldwork in-house, as well as producing market-specific reports. SAPIO surveyed over 13,000 consumers in 27 markets and provided the first set of results in just three weeks from finalizing the questionnaire. Primary research was combined with occupational psychologist commentary developing cloud security personas. The research went onto provide 175+ pieces of coverage, as well as actionable insights for Trend Micro. Cybersecurity newsjacking opportunities abounded form the data points.

Identifying high and low opportunity persona groups: Abbott produces life-changing technologies to allow people to lead healthier lives. Their Freestyle Libre product takes the hassle out of glucose monitoring for type-2 diabetics. Abbott had already conducted qualitative research and now needed a deeper understanding of their audience. SAPIO Research worked with them to carry out a data driven persona research project spanning 8 European markets. The research allowed Abbott to segment its audience, ranking groups from high to low opportunity. The personas were mapped to existing audience categories, with SAPIO producing in-depth bios of each group. SAPIO provided continued project support whilst the personas were incorporated into a simultaneous social listening project.

Olam Cocoa

Developing the most useful pack size: Olam Cocoa have traditionally provided cocoa to manufacturers. In 2019 Olam were preparing to make their cocoa available to professional caterers and needed to understand more about the audience. SAPIO Research initially conducted qualitative and quantitative audience understanding research in the UK. After the initial phase, Olam commissioned SAPIO to conduct further package development and proposition testing research in the UK, Germany, USA, Indonesia, France and Italy. In total SAPIO surveyed over 850 chefs and caterers. The results were indispensable in their pack development and proposition development. In 2020 Olam successfully launched their luxury cocoa deZaan out to professional caterers.
